Government Rebates and Incentives
Provincial and federal governments are providing Canadian homeowners and business owners with more and more incentives to make the transition to clean energy. Here are the incentives currently available in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island.
Agricultural Clean Technology Program
The Adoption Stream intake will provide non-repayable contributions in the range of requests of $25,000 up to $2 million per project.
SolarHomes
Efficiency Nova Scotia offers incentives to homeowners for solar PV systems to make solar electricity more affordable than ever. The SolarHomes program helps Nova Scotians harness the sun’s energy by offering rebates on approved solar PV systems up to 10kW in size.
Canada Greener Homes Grant
Grants from $125 to $5,000 - To get back a portion of your costs for eligible home retrofits
Up to $600 - As a maximum contribution toward the total costs of your pre-and post-retrofit EnerGuide evaluations
Solar Electric Rebate Program
Through the Renewables in Agriculture program, there is a newly increased rebate for non-residential farm buildings. Farm buildings may be eligible for up to $35,000 in solar incentives.
Clean Electricity Investment Tax Credit
The new Clean Electricity Investment Tax Credit is a refundable 15% tax credit on the capital costs of investments made by non-taxable entities, such as Indigenous communities, municipally owned utilities, and Crown corporations.
Total Home Energy Savings Program
Receive rebates on various green energy solutions from Air-sealing, Solar PV and other products. Equipment must meet specific criteria to be eligible for incentives.
