Powering AgriScience Innovation

Electrical Infrastructure for a 100,000 Sq. Ft. Facility

Project Overview

We supported the electrical infrastructure of a 100,000 square foot insect protein production facility in Halifax, designed to meet stringent environmental and operational standards. The facility aims to set new benchmarks in sustainable production using advanced green technologies.

The Challenge

Building a facility of this size required a precise electrical setup to manage temperature and humidity control for production. Ensuring uninterrupted power to sustain these critical systems was essential to avoid any disruption to the facility's operations.

The Project

  • Power distribution system: We installed a comprehensive network of 3 and 4-inch conduits, delivering power to machinery, HVAC units, lighting, and essential systems throughout the facility.

  • Mechanical room integration: Engineered pipe and wire feeds connected seamlessly to boilers and mechanical equipment, enhancing the facility’s energy efficiency and minimizing losses.

  • Adaptive Backup Power System: Integrated four paralleled generators designed to activate based on real-time power demands, providing scalable energy solutions that minimize downtime risks.

The Solution

To ensure continuous power supply, we integrated four paralleled backup generators that automatically engage based on real-time energy consumption. This load-balancing approach not only provides seamless power transitions but also optimizes energy use, reducing waste and maximizing efficiency. This solution supports the facility’s focus on sustainability, enabling scalable power management without compromising reliability or operational uptime.
